Gareth Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has claimed rumours the Welshman could retire after the Euros this summer are "rubbish".
Bale has returned to Madrid before joining up with Wales ahead of Euro 2020, having scored twice in
Tottenham’s final game of the season against Leicester, his 15th and 16th goals of an up-and-down season.
When asked about his next move after the Leicester game, Bale gave a guarded answer.
“It will happen after the Euros,” he told Sky.
“I know what I’m doing but it will just cause chaos if I say anything.”
According to Spanish newspaper
ABC, the 31-year-old was hoping to negotiate an early exit from the Bernabeu and was willing to take around half his yearly salary to leave. It was also suggested that he was considering retiring from football after Euro 2020 to dedicate himself to golf, with one eye on competing professionally.
However, addressing the report on TalkSPORT, Barnett has said the idea that Bale could retire after the Euros is “rubbish”.
