Journalist Alasdair Gold has been discussing Hugo Lloris' future at Tottenham in his
latest YouTube video ahead of the club's Premier League game against Newcastle on Sunday.
The Spurs' goalkeeper has been linked with the move away from the North London club for the summer transfer window, with the player's current contract running out next summer.
However, when speaking about the possible exit, Gold said:
“From everything I’ve [been] told, it will be a surprise if he goes this summer. Obviously, he’ll only have 12 months left on his deal this summer. From what I’m told, Spurs are certainly open and made him aware that they’re open to giving him a new deal.
“But Lloris, I think it’s up to him. I think there’s, certainly on his part, has been a wish to go back to France to end his career. And also, I think there’s a little interest in MLS there as well. But at 34, he’s still probably got a little while left as a goalkeeper, you know, we’re not saying he’s about to retire or anything. So from everything I’m hearing, he is probably more likely to stay for another year at least.”
