Former Leicester City defender names two key factors that will help the Foxes keep up with Liverpool

Former Leicester City defender Martin Keown believes the Foxes' schedule and tactical flexibility will help them keep up with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League. Brendan Rodgers' side have won 4-1 over Aston Villa on Sunday and have a week to recover, while Liverpool are back to action this Tuesday to face Red Bull Salzburg as the Champions League continues. And next the Reds will travel to Qatar for the Club World Cup adding to their busy schedule. Speaking to Daily Mail, Martin Keown has talked about his former club form: “Not for the first time this season, they can spend their week reflecting on another good result while other clubs are having to turn their attention to Europe,” he said. “They can enjoy their win at Aston Villa, work hard on the training ground and prepare to go again at Norwich this Saturday. Manchester City, meanwhile, have to go to Dinamo Zagreb for a Champions League dead rubber. Liverpool go to Red Bull Salzburg hoping to secure passage to the knockout stages.  By the time Leicester host the league leaders on Boxing Day – and what a clash that could be – Jurgen Klopp's side will also have been to Qatar and back. So there is momentum with Leicester, and they just keep winning and winning.” Former Leicester centre-back also added on their tactical flexibility, as Rodgers changed formations at Villa Park, selecting a midfield with Kelechi Iheanacho joining Jamie Vardy up front: “(Rodgers) is keeping his opponents second guessing,” said Keown.
