Fernandinho makes Liverpool vow as Manchester City prepare for crunch clash

Manchester City star Fernandinho says his side will head to Anfield intent on winning the game despite their injury woes. Liverpool are currently leading the Premier League table and are six points ahead of Manchester City. “We go there and try to win the game,” said the 34-year-old. “The mentality is always trying to win the game, as we did from the first minute (against Atalanta). We scored a fast goal, a quick goal. We had some chances to score more. “Gabby (Jesus) missed the penalty but, of course, in the second half they came into the game and some decisions from the referee changed the game a little bit. We had to defend a little bit more than usual but on Sunday we go there and try to win the game from the first minute. “As I said to the lads, with a game like Atalanta, if you can't win, you don't lose. One man down, both keepers went off in different situations. I think that's the spirit of the lads, for sure. As I say, we go there on Sunday and try to win the game. “In difficult situations like this we have to stick together and we did. This is important because we are building a team to be champions and sometimes to be champions you have to play games like this. Now it is good because everybody is understanding what we are building.” Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield, on Sunday, November 10. Source- MEN
