Erling Haaland’s dad Alf-Inge lifts lid on transfer saga and hands Manchester United fresh transfer blow

Erling Haaland’s dad Alf-Inge has lifted the lid on the decision for the son to join Borussia Dortmund. Haaland senior handed Manchester United a further blow after his initial snub. The player was on the verge to join United in the January transfer window, but instead, he joined the Bundesliga side. Haaland, who scored 28 goals in 22 appearances for Austrian outfit RB Salzburg, has scored 12 goals and has created an assist in just nine games for the Bundesliga outfit. Speaking to Spanish outlet AS, Haaland Sr said: "I am very happy for him and Borussia Dortmund, although for me the most important thing is to keep growing as before. He was always a top scorer, but he also gives many assists. Obviously, I am proud. "Dortmund told us that they needed someone like him and that the goal is as high as possible. He is a team that fights for the Bundesliga and is growing in European competitions. It is perfect to continue training, "We were linked to more than 100 teams, but it is true that the Spanish is a very good league for my son, with great teams. You never know if he will play in Spain. What has to happen will happen." Haaland's emergence has also led to a bright future for Norway, with Alf-Inge revealing he loves to play with fellow wonderkid Martin Odegaard, on loan at Real Sociedad from Real Madrid. "My son loves to play with Martin, he is a great footballer," he added. "They understand each other very well in the field."  Source: Daily Star Join us on Telegram!
