"Well done to him": Gary Neville applauds English star's decision to turn down Manchester United move

Gary Neville has given credit to Jude Bellingham for his wise decision to reject a move to Old Trafford in 2020 and opted for a £25 million transfer to Borussia Dortmund.

The Engish talent's journey saw him shine with the Bundesliga outfit, earning a remarkable £115 million move to Real Madrid last summer.

Since then, the 20-year-old has made a strong impact, scoring 13 goals in just 17 La Liga games. Speaking on Sky Sports, the Red Devils' legend expressed his belief that choosing the German side over United proved beneficial for the Los Blancos star, considering the challenges faced by other high-profile recruits at Old Trafford.

He praised Bellingham for opting for a path that, though less flashy, has clearly paved the way for his success in top European leagues.

“I’ve spoken to a couple of players before they’ve come here and said ‘you’ll never regret it, it’s a magic football club’.

“But I have to say looking back, it looks like pretty poor advice with what’s happened to them since they’ve come and it’s really sad.

“You think of Jude Bellingham, and I think of that quite a lot, when he walks into the boardroom here at Man United, United have agreed a fee with Birmingham, and so have Dortmund.

“He has a choice between Dortmund and United. And somehow that kid, well done to him, chose Borussia Dortmund, and he’s now one of the greatest players in the world, one of the greatest English talents.
