Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois hits back to the reports claiming he has anxiety attacks at Madrid and demands respect for the people suffering from it.
After Champions League 2-2 draw with Club Brugge, reports claimed the Belgian goalkeeper suffered from anxiety as he was substituted at a half-time when Madrid was leading the score with 2-0.
"I know what it means to be an elite player," said Coutois. "I'm very happy and I don't have anxiety problems.
"Responsibility from the media is required to not publish lies and nonsense about things like that because at the end of the day, there are people who really suffer from those problems. I think it's disrespectful to the player and to the people who are really suffering.”
After the draw with Brugge, Real Madrid chiefs stated that the keeper had been suffering from gastroenteritis, causing dehydration.
