Solskjaer chooses next Manchester United captain as Antonio Valencia’s move is close

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to make a decision over next Manchetser United captain as Antonio Valencia’s move is close. Valencia’s ten-year spell at Old Trafford is set to come to an end with United refusing to offer the veteran defender a new contract. The 33-year-old Ecuadorian is expected to join the MLS, leaving United and Solskjaer searching for a new captain. Speaking about Pogba and the links with Real Madrid last week, Solskjaer said: "Paul is only focused on playing well [for United]. I can not see him not playing for Manchester United next season. He is a Man Utd player, one of our big performers on the big stage. "He knows the game against PSG wasn’t his best. His job is to be the creator, win the ball and drive forward and I expect him to perform well for us." Pogba has impressed since Norway legend Solskjaer returned to Manchester United in December, scoring 11 goals including Saturday’s brace against West Ham.
