Tottenham celebrated a 2-1 victory over Brighton on Boxing Day.
After the game, Jose Mourinho has faced the media as he speaks about Tanguy Ndombele, Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and more.
On the game
“First half I wouldn’t say is bad. I wouldn’t separate the first half and the previous defeat. You need to start well and we didn’t. VAR disallowed the goal and then we were 1-0 so the boys felt it. We spoke about tactical details and the second half was really, really good. Even if we didn’t win the game I’d have had the feeling that the boys gave everything.”
“How can they play again in 48 hours. It’s against every rule of physiology. It’s criminal.”
On Ndombele
“I cannot say he is injured, I can say that yesterday he told me he was not feeling in condition to play the game. Not based on injuries, based on fears of previous injuries of the season. I cannot say he is injured.”
On Erik Lamela
“Lamela, 57 or 58 days without the team, trained with the team twice after all that time and he came to me and said ‘I think you need me because you have injuries or suspension, if you need me for 10-15 minutes I’ll be there’. If we needed a goal then he was there for us. That sort of thing touches me.”
On Eriksen's future
“I know, I know, or at least I think I know because Christian has always been very clear with me. I will not be the one to say though.”
