Mauricio Pochettino dropped a huge hint on Tottenham young player Juan Foyth’s future as he didn’t name him for the right-back spot in his latest press conference.
"If you go back to my first season, who was my first right-back? (Kyle) Naughton. (Eric) Dier finished (there in the first match) because Naughton was sent off and he scored in the last minute. That season we played, Naughton Dier, Chiricheș, Walker, and maybe another," he said.
"All my seasons were similar to this season. Now it's Kyle Walker-Peters, Serge Aurier, Davinson (Sanchez), now in this type of circumstance, it was Moussa finishing there for the last hour of the game but we were working always in a similar circumstance. It's not going to change this season. That's why I'm very optimistic and very positive. This is not new for us.”
The 21-year-old defender ended the previous season with a couple of performances in the right-back position before playing in the Copa America for Argentina.
Tottenham’s upcoming match will be on Tuesday against Bayern Munich within Champions League tournament.
