Former Manchester United player Lee Sharpe thinks Paul Pogba's partnership with Bruno Fernandes would cause "all sorts of problems".
Pogba's future with the Red Devils still remains unclear. The French midfielder is out of the game due to his ankle injury.
Recently the 26-year-old was targeted by Real Madrid and his former club Juventus. Yet, the player himself revealed he is ready for new challenges.
Fernandes has joined Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side from Sporting Lisbon during the January transfer window. He has made his debut in the Premier League draw against Wolves.
The Portugal international has been viewed as Pogba's successor. However, Sharpe believes the two midfielders could form a winning partnership if Solskjaer convinced the Frenchman to stay.
He told
Sky Sport News: "I think they [Fernandes-Pogba] would have a good partnership. You would have to play them with someone who could do the defensive work. Fernandes is a natural forward-thinking midfielder. Going forward, I think they can cause all sorts of problems between them. It could be just what United need. It's been really disappointing with no Pogba this season, I think they've really missed him. He's got charisma on the pitch and the creativity he brings to the game - there's a level of arrogance and ability that brings everyone up to Paul Pogba's level."
