Mikel Arteta has provided injury updates on several of his players ahead of Arsenal's Premier League return against Burnley. The Gunners go into the game off the back of a poor run of form that has seen them slip to 15th in the table with just 10 goals in 11 games. Arteta was able to provide an update on the fitness of Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian made his return to action in an Arsenal shirt on Tuesday. "Martinelli played his 45 minutes for a long time and came through OK and has trained," he told Premier League Productions. The Spaniard was also able to provide the latest on David Luiz. The 33-year-old was ruled out of Sunday's North London Derby defeat after a gash he sustained following a clash of heads with Wolves' Raul Jimenez failed to heal in time. "Luiz we will assess today and tomorrow to see if he can compete or not" said the Arsenal manager. There was further news on Thomas Partey too. The Ghanaian suffered a recurrence of the thigh strain. "Thomas is out for a few games" said Arteta. "It is the same area where he got injured previously and we will have to see how long it takes to heal."
