Manchester City will be without Bernardo Silva for several upcoming games, including a crucial showdown with Arsenal in the Premier League.
Silva, who recently signed a contract extension until 2026, was forced to leave the field during Tuesday's Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade, and it's expected that he will miss the "next games" due to an unspecified injury, according to City's manager, Pep Guardiola.
“He [Silva] didn’t say anything at the end,” the manager told reporters, via Evening Standard. “I didn’t speak with the doctors but apparently for the next games he won’t be able to play.”
City's upcoming matches include a Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest, a Carabao Cup fixture against Newcastle, and away games against Wolves and RB Leipzig.
The match against Arsenal on October 8 is particularly significant. This injury setback adds to City's challenges, as they have already been dealing with the absence of key players like Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Jack Grealish, and Mateo Kovacic.
Speaking on the injury crisis the Citizens face currently, Guardiola added: “When we have five important players - really, really important players - injured, to sustain that for a long time will be difficult. But it is what it is."
