The Blues’ stand-in manager, Frank Lampard, believes that a positive mindset will be cardinal to reaching better results in the match against Real Madrid for the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
“It will be different next week,” said Lampard, yet acknowledging that facing the European Champions is a big challenge and there is a lot of room for improvement in the squad.
On Wednesday, Chelsea was defeated by Real Madrid with a score of 0-2. While Benzema opened the scoring, Asensio sealed the victory for home in the 74th minute. Moreover, the Blues’ defender Ben Chilwell received a red card after hauling Rodrygo onto the ground in the second half of the match.
