Lionel Messi and Pep Guardiola had a phone call about the Argentine's transfer move to Manchester City and the "killer phrase" in their conversation has been revealed.
After Barcelona ’s recent Champions League humiliation, Messi has communicated his desire to leave immediately with his next destination unknown. It has been reported he spoke to Manchester City boss about his decision with more details of that chat coming to light.
According to Spanish pundit Cristobal Sorja, speaking on TV programme 'El Chiringuito de Jugones’, Messi’s chat featured one “killer phrase” that he was keen to repeat.
It is claimed he told Guardiola (via
Marca ):
“I want to win the next two Ballon d'Or awards, and I can only do that with you”.
Sorja twice repeated the phrase, adding:
"This is the killer phrase that Messi used”.
Four of Messi’s six Ballon d’Or wins came under the best spell of his career under Pep Guardiola.
