Darren Bent recently expressed his enthusiasm for the idea of Romelu Lukaku joining Arsenal and starting ahead of Gabriel Jesus.
While Lukaku's immediate future remains focused on the Champions League final with his loan side Inter Milan against Manchester City, there are ongoing discussions about his long-term plans upon returning to Chelsea in July.
However, Bent's preference would be for Lukaku to join Arsenal if the opportunity arose. He believes that despite facing challenges and criticism during his time in English football, Belgium International is a highly talented player who can show his best under Mikel Arteta.
“I am not getting rid of anyone, but I would have him [at Arsenal]. He would get us more goals than Gabriel Jesus," the pundit said on talkSPORT Drive.
"What Jesus is doing at Arsenal is brilliant. But there are times, he would frustrate me because he wasn’t in the box enough. But Lukaku, I know he is in there. I would have them both. I would start Lukaku down the middle ahead of Jesus.”
