Football pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has criticised Manchester United newcomer Andre Onana for his treatment of Harry Maguire during the club's pre-season game against Borussia Dortmund.
The new Red Devils' goalkeeper showcased more than just his ball-playing abilities, but also demonstrated a history of scrutinizing his teammates, with Maguire being the latest target of his anger.
The England internationals' errant pass to Christian Eriksen led to a chance for Dortmund, and Onana, who came on at half-time, immediately berated him for the mistake after denying Sebastian Haller.
Despite being stripped of the United captaincy earlier, Maguire remained composed, and several media figures came out in support of the defender. Former Aston Villa and England international Gabriel Agbonlahor was particularly critical of Onana's outburst towards Maguire, stating that the defender was an "easy target."
"I don’t like that from Onana. Are you doing that to [Lisandro] Martinez? Are you running after [Marcus] Rashford like that? I don’t think you are," Agbonlahor said on TalkSPORT, via Sportbible.
“Maguire’s an easy target so I didn’t like the look of that. I understand it if it was a big mistake and it cost a goal or it’s Harry Maguire’s fault. Fair enough... But I want to see that same energy for every player.”
