Chelsea chiefs gave Maurizio Sarri stern order over Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea chiefs ordered Maurizio Sarri to play Callum Hudson-Odoi in order to prevent him from leaving, it has been claimed by Blues insider Piet de Visser. In his one season at Chelsea Sarri guided the Blues to third in the Premier League table while also winning the Europa League trophy. Many fans were furious at his decision to regularly overlook the promising Hudson-Odoi. "I enjoy young players,” he told Dutch newspaper Volkskrant. "[Frank] Lampard gives six or seven boys of the academy opportunities. That is the future. "Hudson-Odoi, he didn't want to sign. I told Chelsea: 'Never lose Hudson-Odoi, he will be the new [Eden] Hazard.' But Marina [Granovskaia, Chelsea chief executive] said: 'He didn't want to sign'. "And you know why not? Because Sarri didn't play him. Then Sarri was instructed to deploy him, and he was their best player. And he signed for four years."
