Aston Villa and Villarreal have reached an agreement for the transfer of Pau Torres, valid until June of 2028, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 26-year-old Spanish international center-back has agreed to personal terms with Villa Park as part of the deal. Torres was identified as one of Unai Emery's primary targets early in the summer transfer period. This move will reunite him with Emery, as they previously collaborated at Villarreal. The Spain international was acquired for £35m, according to The Guardian.
During the previous season, the 26-year-old played a crucial role for his boyhood club, featuring in 39 matches as the team secured a fifth-place finish in La Liga, earning a spot in the upcoming Europa League. With 23 international caps for Spain, Torres was also included in the national squad for the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.
