Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard is set to miss the early Euro qualifiers in the Belgium national team as he is to undergo an operation to treat a minor injury.
The 28-year-old made the move to Arsenal during the January transfer window, and made an impressive impact by providing assists in double digits during his initial months at the club. Although he has only managed to score one goal thus far, he aims to increase his goal tally in his first complete season with the team in north London.
Additionally, Trossard is eagerly anticipating his debut season in the Champions League, as his previous experiences were limited to the Europa League with both Arsenal and Genk.
The news about the key player's absence in the national team broke out last week, after Belgium head coach Domenico Tedesco announced his squad for the early summer qualifiers. According to the Belgian outlet HLN, it is expected that Trossard will be fit in time to partake in later fixtures on international duty.
Belgium will take on Austria on June 17 and Estonia on June 20.
