What was Emery’s main purpose to play Arsenal stars against Under-23s

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has organized his team’s training in an extraordinary way ahead of the match with Leicester City. Emery decided to stage a competitive training ground match to keep his players ticking over. The first-team squad took on Freddie Ljungberg's Under-23s team in a match which saw all the fit senior players given game time. The Gunners had a fine start to the season with nine successive games in all competitions- including six in the league. And Emery is desperate to bring back his team to an action but due to the game with Leicester being pushed back to Monday, the Spaniard should be patient. Emery will have many players on his disposal for the upcoming match as the injured player are in good shape with those on international duty are back to London. When asked about upcoming match and mixed training Emery said: "The game against Leicester is very big and very difficult," he said. "Leicester are a very good team and play with a clear identity under Claude Puel. "They are very competitive, have very good players and we need every single player, and our mentality together to be stronger than in the last match."
