Journalist Duncan Castles has claimed that Alexandre Lacazette could be involved in a swap deal for Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho.
Recently the Gunners attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been rumoured to be in the Catalan giants' plans for a potential swap deal. However, now Castles claims that Lacazette could be another option.
“One of those is a swap deal, Coutinho moving out of Barcelona to Arsenal and one of Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang going in the other direction to Barcelona,” the journalist said.
“I think it says a lot about the state of both clubs that this type of deal is even being considered at present. Barcelona want a number nine and they’re scouring the market and see the opportunity in that Arteta is not happy with those two players.”
Coutinho has been previously linked with the move to the Emirates Stadium, though the deal didn't materialise.
The Brazilian has been one of the impressive attackers of the Premier League during his playing spell at Liverpool before his transfer to Barcelona. The Reds' Roberto Firmino once
labelled him as ‘phenomenal’.
