'Duff information' - Manager Smith reveals hilarious Aston Villa misunderstanding

Dean Smith previously stated that Cameron Archer could represent Wales. The Aston Villa manager has hilariously revealed how Archer had him in the net recently when the teenage striker told him he can represent Wales. The 19-year-old was the topic of discussion amongst Smith's coaches given his goal-scoring exploits this season, with Austin MacPhee asking him whether he could turn out for Scotland. The teenager, meanwhile, jokingly said he could play for Wales, with head coach Smith since revealing that's not the case.
"I believe the situation has changed," Smith told BirminghamLive .   "I was given duff information. But it was Cameron Archer who was passing on that duff information.   "I believe he is NOT eligible for Wales. I think he surprised his mum and dad as much as he surprised us!   "I'm sure he's got the attention of England now!"
The Villa boss then added.
"I certainly wasn't lying. I was only going off what I was told by Cameron Archer!"
