Leon Bailey could reportedly make his first start in the Premier League when Aston Villa welcome West Ham on Sunday after returning from injury last week.
According to
Express and Star, Villa hope that a full week in training will allow Bailey to build enough fitness to open the weekend clash against Hammers.
The 24-year-old has struggled for fitness after a
handful of injuries since completing a
£25m transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, as he only managed 129-minutes in 4 substitute appearances so far.
The Jamaican had sat out Aston Villa’s prior 3 EPL fixtures before facing Arsenal due to calf injury.
He showed signs of tiring in the final minutes at the Emirates Stadium but set to make his first start now.
However, despite his limited minutes so far, the attacker has scored once along with his 2 assists and could helpful for his side.
