Christian Falk gives transfer update on Thiago Alcantara amid Liverpool links

German football journalist Christian Falk has provided a transfer update on Thaigo Alcantara amid Liverpool links. Bayern Muncih midfielder has been heavily linked with the move to Anfield, while Manchester United have also joined the race to sign the Spanish international. Germany champions have valued the 29-year-old at around €30million, however, the Reds side are reluctant to face the transfer fee as they could have the chance to land the Spanish international for free, with the player nearing the end of his contract next year. Speaking about the latest situation, Falk has opened up on Thiago's possibility to join Liverpool during the summer transfer window, saying: “There are still talks [between Liverpool and Bayern] but that’s not so concrete at the moment with the negotiations, indeed the Bayern Munich bosses, who are on holiday at the moment, are still waiting for a concrete offer. “They know there should be one. They expected it already a few days ago. I can imagine that Liverpool is still waiting because, you know best, something with [Georginio] Wijnaldum and Barcelona. Perhaps they need the money to make a bid for Thiago. “Thiago himself [already] said goodbye after the [treble] – [at] the big party, he said goodbye to the employers of Bayern Munich at the Monday party which took place in Munich, so it’ll be very hard for him to go to training at [Säbener Strasse] again next week so we are still waiting [for] the offer. We know that Jurgen Klopp is very, very keen on him, but we also know as well that he was very, very keen on Timo Werner and didn’t get him because of money, so we all have to wait.”
