Christian Eriksen has taken to Instagram to send a message after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch during Denmark’s 1-0 defeat to Finland on Saturday.

Eriksen required CPR after collapsing during the first half of the game after which the game was suspended, however, hours later it resumed, and Finland won as Joel Pohjanpalo scored the only goal of the game.

Eriksen took to Instagram and wrote: “Hello everyone. Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family. ♥️🙏 I’m fine – under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay.

“Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark 🇩🇰 Best Christian.”
