Chelsea sent scouts to watch two strikers with transfer ban lifted in January

Chelsea are preparing to sign a striker during the January transfer window, as their ban has been lifted. Frank Lampard wants to bring in a striker to compete with Tammy Abraham for starting role. The Blues watches Moussa Dembele and Timo Werner during Lyon’s and RB Leipzig’s Champions League game, which ended with a draw and saw both sides progress to the knockout stage. Neither forward stood out, but Werner scored his 20^th goal in 22 games with a penalty kick. It would be easier to sign Dembele, as Lyon interested in Olivier Giroud, and the swap deal could take place.
