Chelsea manager speaks on Kai Havertz after Wolves defeat

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has spoken out Kai Havertz after the midfielder struggled in 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Tuesday evening. Havertz started from the first minutes, however, he was substituted at the 71st minute as Mateo Kovacic replaced him. The German joined the Blues in the summer and since making his move he has made 17 appearances in which he has scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists. "Kai can play better, we know that, and he’ll know that himself tonight," Lampard told BBC Radio 5 Live. "He’s going to be a top player for the club, I keep saying the same thing. Tonight wasn’t the best for him, neither the best for some others." Asked if the result is a wake-up call for some of his Chelsea players, Lampard replied: "Maybe, it’s not for me. "When everyone gets excited after Leeds I was the last one to get excited because I understand what the season is and I understand where we’re at. "We have some younger players, we have some new players to the league, they do need to understand that these games come and if we want to get to where we want to get to we have to see them through, and we didn’t do it." source - Metro / Join us on Telegram
