Canterbury Bulldogs forward Joe Stimson is set to be ruled out for six months after having shoulder reconstruction surgery.
The 24-year-old tore the front of his shoulder joint during the Bulldogs’ Round Two clash against North Queensland Cowboys back in March.
He is set to face a second surgery in two weeks after his first operation on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs say it will be between five and six months before he returns to action.
