Callum Hudson-Odoi reveals what England teammates said to him after racist abuse

Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi impressed on his first start for the Three Lions in England’s comfortable 5-1 victory over Montenegro on Monday. However, he heard the abuse aimed at Danny Rose and was left shocked by the despicable scenes. Speaking to beIN SPORTS , Hudson-Odoi said: “I don’t think discrimination should be anywhere you know. We are equal. You have to play a fair game and enjoy the moment. “When you are hearing stuff like that from the fans it’s not right, it’s unacceptable and hopefully UEFA deal with it properly. When I went over there me and Rosey heard it - they were saying 'ooh ooh, aah aah', monkey stuff. “You just have to keep your head and keep a strong mentality. Hopefully, Rosey is OK as well. If anything, we will have a chat and discuss what has happened. He’s got a strong mentality, he’s a strong guy, so I think everything will be good and hopefully UEFA deal with it. “It’s not right at all. I was enjoying the game as well and to hear stuff like that is never right. You’ve got to have a strong mentality and we are still delighted for the win. We will take that and go back home.” Hudson-Odoi revealed that he has spoken to Rose and Raheem Sterling about the disgraceful scenes. “It’s football, people do it. It’s not right in the game but you’ve got to stay strong. I’ve spoken to him and Rosey at the same time. “They’ve said ’listen in football you are always going to get stuff like that, people are always going to be rude to you and say stuff that you don’t want to hear.’ “It's part of football so sometimes you’ve got to block it out of your head and keep going with the game. But at the same time that should never happen in football, everyone should be enjoying the game - and it’s unacceptable.”
