Brendan Rodgers gives verdict on if Liverpool should be handed Premier League title

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers thinks Liverpool would have deserved being awarded the Premier League title. The Reds are 25 points clear of reigning champions Manchester City. However, the coronavirus crisis saw the season suspended in mid-March. Jurgen Klopp’s team have just nine games left to play in the top flight. Rodgers insists the title should finally be heading to Merseyside this season, no matter the outcome. "They have been the best team in the country," Leicester manager Rodgers told beIN Sports. "I think they deserve it. “They have been first class, the level of consistency and the level they've played at, it'd be an absolute crying shame if they weren't awarded the title. "They have got two games to win it, if we get back playing I'm sure they will do that. I've no doubt they deserve it. It's just a real, real shame that if they do get the title that they can't share it with the supporters how you normally would because they've waited so long." Source: Daily Star
