Athletic: Chelsea ‘closing in’ on signing Kai Havertz, personal terms ‘all but done’

Bayer Leverkusen ace Kai Havertz is very interested in joining Chelsea, according to Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones. The Leverkusen star has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. Havertz has seven caps for Germany, 148 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, 46 career goals and he only turned 21 last month. He is likely to cost anywhere between £70million and £90million. "He is interested. Very interested, actually," Jones told TalkChelsea. "He really wants to push himself and Leverkusen are pretty surprised at how focused he is on finding a new club." Meanwhile, The Athletic journalist David Ornstein claimed this morning that Chelsea ‘are closing in’ on an €80m deal to sign Havertz, with personal terms ‘all but done.’   Source: Football.london
