Chelsea boss Frank Lampard warned four stars have gone backwards under him

Chelsea's young group of English talent have all lost their way through the course of the season due to inexperience, according to former Blues striker Tony Cascarino. Frank Lampard was forced to put his faith in the young players that had been a part of their FA Youth Cup-winning teams after FIFA banned them from transfers. Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori were all regular starters for Lampard and Reece James broke into the team at right-back as the season progressed. But Cascarino feels the drop in form by the quartet have struggled as the season has gone on. “All of them over the course of the season have gone slightly backwards,” Cascarino told talkSPORT. “Tammy Abraham had a brilliant start but as the season has gone on he hasn’t been quite as good. "Mason Mount, likewise. Reece James, exactly the same. Tomori was in the team at the start of the season and now he finds himself out of the side. Largely that’s been the case with the younger element of the team. That can come with the territory of playing inexperienced players.” Source: Express
