Borussia Dortmund CEO aims dig at Manchester United great Paul Scholes

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke hit back at suggestions from Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves that the German club is bluffing about Jadon Sancho's future. Manchester United were dealt a bombshell earlier in the week when Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc not only claimed Sancho will play for the club next season. Zorc described the decision as 'final' but many pundits including Scholes and Hargreaves questioned the sincerity of the claim that Sancho will definitely be at Dortmund next season. However, Watzke has hit back at the suggestion. “I read that too," Watzke told German media when asked about the comments. "This is what experts like Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves claim. They were great footballers, and they are football experts. But I don’t know if they are transfer experts too. That Sancho stays with BVB is set in stone.” Watzke was then asked if Sancho could look to force his way out of Dortmund. He added: "I don’t see this danger at all. At the test match in Altach – as you know – Jadon himself explained how ‘happy he is in this special bunch’. We have a good exchange with his advisors. We acknowledge that Jadon responds very well. And he recognises that we have a good team that gives him a lot of fun playing football. He shows this joy every day now. In training. In the game.” Source: MEN
