BILD: Dayot Upamecano agrees to join Bayern Munich

RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has agreed to join Bayern Munich in the summer, according to Sports BILD. The news will come as a blow to several European clubs who were interested in the France U21 international. However, there is still an obstacle in agreeing on the deal. Bild reports, the German giants are unwilling to pay his €60 million release clause due to the crises caused by coronavirus pandemic. Upamecano’s contract with Leipzig expires in the summer of 2021. He joined the club from RB Salzburg back in 2017. RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff told Sportbuzzer last week that the club won't sell anyone 'below value'. When asked specifically about Upamecano, he responded: "You can assume that we will have talks that will be to everyone's satisfaction." Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham have also been linked with a move for the player. Source: Sports BILD
