Benzema went to Real Madrid despite better Manchester Untied offer

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas reveals Karim Benzema has chosen Real Madrid in spite of Manchester Untied's better offer. The French forward joined Real from Lyon in 2009 for €35m and since then spent his playing time scoring goals for the Spanish club. Aulas says Benzema decided to move to Santiago Bernabéu, though Manchester Untied actually offered more money for the striker. He told: "When Karim asked me about leaving Lyon I had received two offers: one from United and one from Real Madrid. Karim, just as Fekir did, came to see me and this showed that we had a very trusting relationship. He [Benzema] said: 'My dream is to play for Real Madrid.' We sold him to Madrid even though United had made a superior offer." Benzema has started an impressive season for Real Madrid. However, Lyon president told it would be perfect if the French player decide to end his career at the French club.
