Belgium make a MAJOR DECISION on football league, that Premier League fans SHOULD know
Belgium football league season will be stopped and Club Brugge will be announced champions, as reported by HLN.
European football is currently on pause due to the coronavirus pandemic. While most of the leagues and UEFA are discussing the possibilities of the restart, Belgium have decided not to wait and make risks for the next season.
Club Brugge had a 15-point-advantage over the second placed Gent. Both teams will represent the country in the Champions League next season.
Charleroi and Antwerpen will automatically qualify for Europa League group stage, while Standard Liege will start the campaign from the qualification round.
No team will be relegated, while two teams will be promoted from the second division.
Official announcement on cancellation of the season will be made soon, while documents are being prepared.
