The Bayern Munich tactic Liverpool will hope to see in Champions League clash

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp leads his side into the Champions League last-16 looking to see the first leg against Bayern Munich. Klopp will see the first leg as his side’s best chance of progression ahead of next month’s return at the Allianz Arena. Klopp will hope to see Bayern start the game in the same manner they did at Augsburg on Friday. Because after just 13 seconds Bayern's Leon Goretkza bundled the ball into the back of his own net following a cross from home full-back Philipp Max. Max himself told Bild that head coach Manuel Baum had pinpointed the fact that Bayern's full-backs Joshua Kimmich and David Alaba have a tendency to start games pushed up high when the opposition perform the kick-off. Augsburg went on to lose 3-2, but Klopp might well be instructing his left-back Andrew Robertson to start the game in a similarly advanced position to the one Max began the game in. Kimmich and Alaba will have to go against their natural instincts if that's what's going to transpire. Should they roam too far forward, then Liverpool could punish them.
