Barcelona set to scupper Newcastle's transfer pursuit of Paco Alcacer
Newcastle could miss out on transfer target Paco Alcacer this month.
The Borussia Dortmund star is expected to leave in the coming days.
Steve Bruce's side keen to acquire his services on loan until the end of the season, however, Barcelona have thrown a spanner in the works, with their attempts to sign Valencia striker Rodrigo.
Spanish publication Cadena Ser say the Nou Camp outfit are in deep negotiations with super-agent Jorge Mendes over a transfer this month.
Rodrigo's exit would then see Valencia attempt to bring in Alcacer as a like-for-like replacement.
