Bale unlikely to ever return to Tottenham and was never a option in January, agent reveals

Gareth Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has revealed the players' move to Tottenham was not planned during the January transfer window, yet, it may never happen. Recently the winger became the center of the criticism with Zinedine Zidane's side and was linked with return to the Spurs amid Jose Mourinho's appointment as the club manager. In spite of the talks, Barnett said that Bale has no desire to take in a second spell in the Premier League. The Wales international's contract with Real Madrid expires in 2022, and the agent said that there haven't been any talks of a loan move as well. Being asked if any approach from Tottenham have been received before the last deadline passed, Barnett told talkSPORT:"No. [Daniel Levy] may have [visited Madrid], it’s not for me to say whether he did or didn’t. Gareth is very happy over there. And let’s be realistic: for most clubs he is out of their league, financially. It is all well and good to say, ‘give up that money and go and play somewhere else’, but it is not all about money. It is about his lifestyle and his children, who have grown up in Madrid." To the question if Bale could return to his familiar clubs, the agent added: "I don’t think so, no. He’s in a very fortunate position. When his contract is up, hopefully, he will sit down with me and his family and decide what he wants to do."
