Aston Villa man doubts, he may have sustained injury

Leon Bailey believes he may have suffered an injury while scoring his first goal for the club. On Saturday, the new Aston Villa hero netted a goal to make the score 3-0 against Everton.

Afterwards, the £25million man was forced to be subbed off with a tight quad he thinks was caused during his shot.

"The injury was actually from the shot - I think I hit it too hard so I started feeling a little stiff in my quad. But I don't think it should be anything serious," Bailey said.

"Instead of risking it I decided to come out - because we have a lot of games coming up. So no worries."

The Jamaican international also added.

“The manager just said ‘you're going on, play left’ and I said ‘ok’.

"He said go on and do what you know you can do. I just went out there and I was excited to be on the pitch and I delivered. It was just the perfect night.”

Dean Smith also shared his thoughts on the player's injury situation.

“Leon Bailey gets bums off seats and that's what supporters want to see.

“We’ve got some really exciting talents here and hopefully that can keep us moving forward as a club," said boss Smith.
