Aston Villa fans have responded to Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher after their comments on the Arsenal defeat on Friday.
Previously, Neville sent some instructions
to Dean Smith following their 3-1 defeat to Gunners, suggesting that the Villa manager needs to simplify his side’s way of playing.
And Jamie Carragher agreed with former Manchester United legend, as the pair
discussed on Sky Sports what may lie behind Villa's poor form this season.
"I do not know how you even coach that system, but 5-2-1-2 to me, I am not sure how I begin to move," Neville said.
"Where are my passes? Emi Buendia is not working out of that system.
"I think it might be a case of going back to something a little bit more basic of what they were doing last season."
And his Sky colleague Jamie Carragher agreed.
"I think it would suit them more to go back to the system that they had last season," added Carragher.
Meanwhile, supporters have had their comments on the Sky pair's instructions.
"Pick your team and formation based on who your next opponents are and how they're likely to play," one said in BirminghamLive 's comments section.
Another added: " If Smith has changed the formation then why?"
"Villa must try something different even going back to a 4-4-3 if we are to snap this bad run of form," a third fan said while another added: "Same formation and another defeat!"
A fifth fan said: "I have never seen a headline say Liverpool beat Manchester United because they played 4-3-3 or 3-5-2."
