AS: Manchester City make formal offer for 25-year-old defender

Manchester City have made official bid for Atletico Madrid centre-back Jose Maria Gimenez, according to AS in Spain. The report claims, City are ready to pay £82m for the 25-year-old defender, plus £4.5m in bonuses, while the Spanish side have referred the Sky Blues to Gimenez's £120m release clause. It is also reported that Atletico want Gimenez to stay at the club in spite of City's offer.
