Arsene Wenger questions Manchester United signing of Cristiano Ronaldo

Arsene Wenger has opened up on Manchester United's new transfers, claiming the decision of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford was not "100 per cent rational". The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is set to play with his former side this summer 12 years later after his exit. Wenger believes it's great to see Ronaldo back to the Premier League, however, he thinks the Portuguese man's move was mainly the result of an emotional connection between the player and the club. "This is a love story that you want to see," Arsenal's legendary boss told BILD LIVE. "[He was re-signed] for more than just sporting reasons, it’s also emotional. I think the decision is not 100% rational. "Finding a balance in the team is a big challenge. But the players with a lot of experience still score a lot." Then he added: "He was at our training ground and even wore an Arsenal jersey. But we could only pay €4million (£3.4m) back then. "[Sir Alex] snatched him from me! And for €12m (£10.2m)."
