Arsenal target Real Madrid star in swap deal for Ozil

Arsenal will investigate the possibility of a swap deal involving Mesut Ozil for Real Madrid’s Isco, according to The Independent. The German, who’s huge £300,000-a-week contract will make him hugely difficult to offload, has fallen out of favour with Unai Emery. Real Madrid are ready to sell Isco, while Isco wants to quit the club. The Spanish giants would want around £100m for Isco, meaning any deal for Ozil would also involve a considerable fee from Arsenal. However, Arsenal could face heavy competition from Chelsea. As we have reported before the Blues made a £70 million bid for the Spaniard. Mesut Ozil, meanwhile, would like to return to the club, where he spent 3 seasons. In this time at Real Madrid, Ozil scored 27 goals and provided 80 assists.
