Arsenal agree provisional contract with William Saliba

Following Arsenal's failure to qualify for the Champions League next season, it's safe to say Emery doesn't have a lucrative transfer budget this summer. However, the Gunners  are said to be looking to France in a bid to bolster their defensive options and have targeted William Saliba with the latest reports claiming he's agreed a five-year-deal with the north London outfit. The 18-year-old defender is currently playing for Saint-Etienne in the top flight of French football. Almost a year ago to the day he signed his first professional contract at the age of 17. On the ball he's decent and can only improve. Averaging 0.1 key passes per game, an 85.6% pass accuracy and attempting 2.9 long balls per game. Should they chose to cash in on the teenager this summer, one would imagine they can command a higher fee than the £25 million being touted a couple of months ago amid links to Manchester United.
