Are Tottenham lucky to win their matches? Hugo Lloris has his SAY on this

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris doesn’t think the team's latest victories are about being lucky on the pitch.  After winning in three consecutive matches Spurs are now 5th on the table with 40 points and at this moment are qualifying for the group stage of the next Champions League campaign as Manchester City are banned from the competition. Tottenham have beaten Manchester City at home ground and Aston Villa at Villa Park. Lloris was one of the best players against Pep Guardiola’s side as World Cup champion denied Ilkay Gundogan from scoring from the penalty spot, while the victory against Villa was after a dramatic mistake made by home side defender Bjorn Engels.  “I don't think it's about luck. If you look at some games earlier in the season, we were very unlucky. We know we can do much better.” Lloris told the Evening Standard (via Daily Mail). “Especially at this period of the season, only the points matter. We had a difficult game. We have to give a lot of credit to Villa but we never gave up. We expected a tough game, it was a big battle played in difficult conditions with a lot of wind. “There are a lot of positive things, we still need to correct the negative ones but we have to be happy with the result. “We could have managed the ball better, especially in the first half. We gave too much possession away but away from home it's never easy. “They are playing for their safety, so we knew they'd start with a lot of energy. We conceded a goal not in the best moment but then we stayed strong.” he added. Spurs meanwhile are preparing for the first leg against RB Leipzig at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.  The Champions League is returning to North London on Wednesday.
