Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has taken to Twitter to apologize for the collision which injured Kevin De Bruyne during the Champions League final on Saturday. The Blues celebrated a 1-0 victory over Manchester City and lifted the trophy as Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the game.
During the second half, after the collision with Rudiger, De Bruyne was forced off with a black eye as he was replaced by Gabriel Jesus.
Following the game, Rudiger took to Twitter and wrote: "I’m really sorry for @DeBruyneKev’s injury.
"Of course this was not intentional from me – I’ve already been in touch with Kevin personally and I really wish him a speedy recovery & hope we can see him back on the pitch very soon again."
