Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has been rewarded for the role he played in the Spanish club winning the Europa League.
The forward finished ahead of team-mate Digeo Godin and his compatriot Dimitri Payet.
The player could not attend the ceremony but apologised for his absence and recorded a video. "I want ot give thanks to everyone who voted for me and especially my coach," he said. "I hope that this prize allows me to keep moving forward."
He helped Atletico win the Europa League with a 3-0 win over Olympique Marseilles in the final, scoring a total of six goals and giving four assists in the 630 minutes.
