Amir Khan has suggested he could fight Oscar De La Hoya as the legendary boxer considers coming out of retirement. The 47-year-old officially hung up his gloves in 2009 following his defeat by Manny Pacquiao in December 2008.
Khan has not fought since he knocked out Billy Dib in June 2019 but the British fighter has teased a potential bout after calling out De La Hoya on Twitter.
Khan posted an old photo of the pair alongside the caption: '
I heard @OscarDeLaHoya is thinking of making a comeback. Oscar De La Hoya vs Amir Khan.'
But fans were quick to criticise the 33-year-old for avoiding Kell Brook, with one writing: '
You'd rather fight a retired fighter than @SpecialKBrook'.
A third fan claimed: '
He’d still KO you.'
